Plan a Patriotic Party with Two Funny Girls
We know it’s been a long few months, but it’s finally summertime! The sun is out, the drinks are flowing, burgers are on the grill and you’re planning a patriotic party poolside with your quarantine crew. We know that summer gatherings will look a little different this year, but hey, why else would we pack our cups in sleeves of 10 or less!? We’re here to provide you with all the festive party products you’ll need for every road trip, patio party and every BBQ in between, all summer long. Here’s our wrap-up of all things red, white and blue to celebrate the summer season.
Sip on a Coastal Cocktail
There’s only one way to combat the summer heat – ice cold lemonade. For those post 5 PM cravings, sip on something sweet that’s both refreshing and extremely festive. Whether you’re sitting poolside, lakeside, beachside or just soaking up sunshine on your porch, this Star Spangled Lemonade from The Party Wagon is everything we love about summertime in a cocktail! It’s simple enough to make beforehand and serve to guests, or store in a pitcher and sip on sunny afternoons. We made some for the Memorial Day weekend and they were a huge hit – your friends and family will gush over how refreshing and fun this cocktail is, let alone how social media worthy the festive fruit makes it. Our recommendation? Serve in glasses and add some flair with our wooden patriotic stir sticks or festive ready-to-ship foam cups.
Ingredients:
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups lemon juice
8 cups water
2 oz. vodka
Watermelon
Blueberries
Star Spangled Lemonade
- Combine sugar and water over heat to dissolve the sugar completely.
- Add lemon juice.
- Chill, and enjoy!
Star Spangled Cocktail
- Add 2 oz. of vodka to a 6-8 oz. serving of lemonade
Watermelon Stars (trust us, these are definitely a necessity – and make this cocktail Instagram-worthy!)
- To make the watermelon stars, slice a piece of watermelon into a triangle slice. Use a mini cookie cutter in the shape of a star and cut out star shapes from the watermelon slices.
- Add fresh, washed blueberries.
For Your House-Party Hostess
Ready to finally leave the house and venture out into the world? If you’re loading up your car and heading out with friends for your summer soiree, then make sure to stock up on gifts for your host or hostess. You can never go wrong with gifts for their lake or beach house. We recommend custom cups (add their last name or a fun saying), napkins, cutting boards and more. Check out this cutting board for a lake house gift we love! We also love customizing our neoprene slim can koozies for added personalization and fun. This new design can hold any 12 oz slim can (hello, White Claw fans!) and will quickly become a summer essential.
After a few months of social distancing, we’re officially ready to put a summer spin on the term with our newly launched “coastal” distancing cups! They’re ready to ship and sold in sleeves of 10, so we love the idea of sending to friends for your next Zoom happy hour, or bringing as a gift for your next road trip. Did we mention these pair perfectly with our patriotic lemonade cocktail above!? You won’t want to miss out on this fun design.
Sink Your Teeth Into These Backyard Burgers
There’s some things that just make summer.. summer. One of those has to be a backyard burger fresh off the grill. While you can never go wrong with a classic cheeseburger, we found our new favorite mouthwatering “spicy” burger that is simply delicious. We love this recipe from Plain Chicken – it puts a fun twist on a summertime classic and will be a staple item all summer long! These burgers definitely bring the heat and can even be made ahead of time and frozen for when you’re ready to eat. Gather the ingredients and your summer crew, this is a meal not to be missed!
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon cajun seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon smoke-flavored cooking sauce
- 1 1/4 pounds lean ground beef
